Payroll Deductions

Mandatory Deductions

Mandatory deductions are those over which the employee has no control. These deductions are required by law or University policy.

Voluntary Deductions

Voluntary deductions include the employee's cost for benefits coverage such as retirement, health, dental, group term life insurance, or personal accident insurance. Voluntary deductions also include the convenience deductions employees have requested, such as crusade of mercy/United Way contributions, tuition, campus parking, athletic facility, or locker rental.

Pretax Deductions

Pretax deductions (Voluntary Deductions) include health and dental plans, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Retirement Income Plan for Employees (ERIP), Contributory Retirement Plan (CRP), Supplemental Retirement Program (SRP), qualified transportation program, and campus parking fees.
