Purpose: To provide guidelines governing the accounting disposition for unidentified gifts to the University.

Policy

  1. Unidentified gifts for endowment with no purpose or other information from or about the donor that have gone unidentified for six months shall, with the approval of the Vice President of Alumni Relations and Development and the Chief Financial Officer, be considered unrestricted and transferred to a funds functioning as endowment account 0-60014-4250, the payout from which will be used for student aid.
  2. All other unidentified expendable gifts received by the University with no purpose or other information from or about the donor that have gone unidentified for six months shall, with the approval of the Vice President of Alumni Relations and Development and the Chief Financial Officer, be considered unrestricted and transferred to a University operating revenue account 1-44001-4250.
